“ If you like Vietnamese food and want to try something other than Pho, I recommend trying Com Tam (Broken Rice dish in English, I get the #70) at this place--they make it really well. The prices may be a bit high, but they justify the variety of dishes you get in one portion, which is quite large. I usually end up with leftovers, and they're great the next day. I often get takeout, so I don't have too many opinions about the staff, but I will say that they are quick or accurate with my orders. The space itself is pretty roomy, and the atmosphere is bright if you choose to dine in. There aren't many Com Tam places still open post-Covid, which is a shame, so this is one of the few I go to whenever I'm craving this dish. ”
“ Fav pho place w the best fatty brisket The wait could get long tho if u go during peak hours :/ ”
“ This place looked like the spot to go to with the line outside its doors. The was wait was around 15-20 mins and service was speedy. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The food when you're starving was delicious, came out pretty fast and the waiters were attentive to our requests given how busy they are. Would come again when in town with my family. ”
“ On my most recent trip back to the Bay Area, Com Tam Thien Huong was the first place I ate when I arrived. I've heard many of my friends talk about this restaurant, and com tam is one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes, so it was exciting to see a restaurant dedicated to this dish. We came in on an early Thursday evening, and there was a decent amount of people there but we got seated right away. I ordered the Dac Biet/Special Rice Combination 73. Suon Bo Dai Han/BBQ Beef Rib to share with my partner as we knew we'd be eating a lot that day. It comes with the bbq beef rib, fried shrimp cake, shredded pork skin, egg cake, and grilled shrimp on sugarcane with rice. Every item that came with the com tam paired deliciously well together, and it was packed with flavour in every bite! The bbq beef was very juicy and cooked well, not burnt like some other places I've tried. Egg cake was nice and fluffy, great to have in-between bites with the meat and the rice. The grilled shrimp on sugarcane was new for me, but I liked the way it was prepared and the sugarcane gave it a sweeter taste for the shrimp. Honestly out of all the com tam I've eaten back in the Pacific Northwest, Com Tam Thien Huong completely knocks everyone else out the water FOR SURE. I'm surprised by the average Yelp rating for this place, but I guess everyone has had mixed feelings. Some may complain about the service, but for me it felt quite normal for a Vietnamese establishment. Often no frills, all about the food and its quality. I would love to come back to eat here again the next time I am in the Bay. ”
“ Needed to find a new com tam place and decided to try this one in Lil Saigon. There are a decent amount of seats, but this place got packed on a Sunday night. Ordered: - #38 BBQ short rib with shrimp cake - #43 BBQ pork with shrimp on sugar cane BBQ short rib was so good, very sweet and savory. The shrimp cake was crisp and soft as well. The plates come with fish sauce on the side in addition to some broth for after. The dishes come with some greens, pickle veggies, and a chili pepper. The pickled daikon and carrots were very dry and didn't taste like anything, which is a bummer. BBQ pork was savory, but our dish came with just grilled shrimp and not shrimp wrapped around the sugar cane, which we got the first time we came. For $20 I feel like the plates were barely enough in terms of portions? But I'd come back again when I'm in the mood for some com tam. ”
